Non-woven bags are those which are made of fabric called Non-Woven. The name has been derived from the fact that these bags are not woven or sewn or knitted together. The Non-Woven bags are 100% green, recyclable and reusable. There are numerous benefits of Non-Woven bags. In case, you are not aware, the major ones have been highlighted here.

The in thing: Non woven bags are the “in thing”. They make for a style statement and convey the message that the company is exhibiting its social responsibility. Durable: These bags are extremely durable as the short and long fibers are bonded together through chemical formula and treatments. These cannot be torn easily. Environment Friendly: These are 100% green and eco-friendly. These are biodegradable. These do not release any toxic gas or chemical while being disposed. On the other hand, plastic bags are non-biodegradable and are harmful to environment. Reusable: Yes, you can re-use these bags easily. You can wash them and use again.
Plastic bags start out as fossil fuels and end up as deadly waste in landfills and the ocean. Birds often mistake shredded plastic bags for food, filling their stomachs with toxic debris. For hungry sea turtles, it's nearly impossible to distinguish between jellyfish and floating plastic shopping bags. Fish eat thousands of tons of plastic a year, transferring it up the food chain to bigger fish and marine mammals. Microplastics are also consumed by people through food and in the air. It’s expected that there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050.
In June 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that India will eliminate all single-use plastics in the country by 2022. In the fourth United Nations Environment Assembly held in 2019, India piloted a resolution on addressing single-use plastic products pollution, recognising the urgent need for the global community to focus on this issue. the Environment Ministry said plastic packaging waste not covered under the phase-out of identified single-use plastic items should be collected and managed in an environmentally sustainable way through the Extended Producer Responsibility of the producer, importer and brand owner (PIBO) as per Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. For effective implementation of the Extended Producer Responsibility, the guidelines being brought out have been given legal force through the amended rules, it said.
